WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.?Duke University sophomore Reka Zsilinszka's run in the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Championships stopped today in the semifinal round. Zsilinszka represented the Blue Devils in the semifinals of the singles draw at the regional tournament for the second consecutive season.
Looking to advance to the title match for the second straight season, Zsilinszka met up with second-seeded Laura Gioia of Furman. Losing just twice this fall, Gioia continued her strong play with a 6-2, 6-4 win to reach the title match. Zsilinszka is now 6-3 in matches this fall.
Zsilinszka advanced to the semifinals in both singles and doubles play at the tournament. She paired up with Amanda Granson in doubles action for the first time as they won three matches to earn a spot in the semifinal round before falling to the No. 2 seed team and eventual champion.
The Blue Devils close out the fall season on Nov. 7-9, in the Duke-UNC Invitational. Also being held that weekend is the ITA National Indoor Championship.
