In the A-1 doubles bracket, returning ITA All-American David Goulet and his partner Christopher Price started strong with an easy 8-1 victory over Brown's Saurabh Kohli and Nathaniel Gorham. Their second match of the day was not as easy as they dropped an 8-5 decision to the No. 3 seed duo of Michael James and Adam Slagter of
Also playing in the top doubles bracket was Duke's Reid Carleton and Dylan Arnould. The pair won a tight first round match against Elon's Damon Gooch and Mason Schermerhorn, 9-8. In the quarterfinal match, they could not carry the momentum as they lost 8-4.
The Blue Devils' duo of Kiril Dimitrov and Alain Michel teamed together in the B-1 bracket but suffered an 8-5 setback in their first round match. They later moved on to the consolation semifinals with a default victory. Alex Stone and Aaron Carpenter lost two matches in the B-2 bracket falling 8-4 in the opening round and 8-3 in their consolation round.
David Lue, a sophomore from
Carleton has also won two straight matches after receiving a loss in his first collegiate match. On Saturday Carleton claimed a 6-2, 7-5 win over Mariusz Adamski of Wake Forest and will next face Stetson's Marcus Echtler in the consolation finals.
