DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke's rookie duo of Taylor King and Nolan Smith combined for 35 points as the sixth-ranked Blue Devils defeated Michigan, 95-67, on Saturday afternoon at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The Blue Devils improve to 9-0 on the year while the Wolverines fall to 3-6. Duke has now won six in a row over Michigan and leads the all-time series by an 18-7 count. The two schools met in the 1992 NCAA championship game with the Blue Devils claiming the title with a 71-51 victory.
King scored a game-high 18 points while Smith added a season-best 17. King pumped in three three-pointers to push his team-leading season total to 23 while Smith made seven-of-nine field goal attempts and added five rebounds.
Duke had five players in double digits for the third straight game. Gerald Henderson tossed in 12 points while Jon Scheyer and DeMarcus Nelson contributed 10 apiece.
Michigan led early in the game, but a 9-0 Duke spurt turned a 10-8 deficit into a 17-10 lead on a three-point basket from Gerald Henderson at the 10:16 mark. Later in the half, Nolan Smith scored nine points during a 14-0 run that built a 32-14 advantage for the Blue Devils.
The Wolverines were led by 12 points from DeShawn Sims.
Duke pushed its streak of consecutive non-conference wins at home to an NCAA-best 56 victories.
The Blue Devils are next in action on Monday, December 17 at home versus Albany. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be televised live on espn2.
