COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Blue Devil duo of sophomore Amanda Granson and junior Melissa Mang fell to Sophie Grabinski and Sanaz Marand of North Carolina by a score of 8-2 in the finals of the consolation bracket at the ITA National Indoor Championships on Sunday.
The two tandems now have one win apiece when competing against each other, as the duos first squared off in the ITA Southeast Regional championship match in mid-October. Granson and Mang came away with an 8-3 victory to take home the regional title.
In other Duke tennis action, senior Tory Zawacki, junior Jessi Robinson and sophomore Elizabeth Plotkin competed at the Duke Invitational, held at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
Plotkin and Robinson each posted wins on Sunday, as Plotkin took down Sasha Kulikova of Wake Forest, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, and Robinson defeated Katarina Reveche of Wake Forest, 7-5, 6-1.
Zawacki dropped a hard-fought three-set decision to Emilee Malvehy of Wake Forest (2-6, 6-4, 6-3).
