Duke Closes Strong At Guadalajara Invitational, Finishes Third

GUADALAJARA, MEXICO- The top-ranked Duke women's golf team closed out the California Guadalajara Invitational on Wednesday with a team-best 18-hole score of 284, but finished third behind UCLA and Southern California at the 6,200-yard, Par 72 Guadalajara Country Club in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The Blue Devils concluded the 54-hole invitational with a score of 874, which was 10 shots behind UCLA (864) and three shots behind second round leader Southern California (871). Rounding out the field was Arizona State (882), Georgia (882), California (894), Arizona (900), Ohio State (904), Washington (916), Stanford (928) and Texas (947).

Duke registered four golfers shooting even or under par on the final day of action led by two-under-par scores of 70 from freshmen Amanda Blumenherst and Jennie Lee. With the strong finish, Blumenherst finished tied for fifth with a three-day total of 215, which marks the sixth straight top-10 finish of her collegiate career. Southern California's Irene Cho ran away with the individual title with a total of 203.

Junior Anna Grzebien finished tied for seventh with a total of 217. Grzebien, a product of Narragansett, R.I., finished off the week with an even-par, 72. The rest of the Blue Devils finished tied for 20th in the individual competition with a 223. Jennifer Pandolfi posted her second straight 73 on Wednesday, Liz Janangelo had a 72 and Lee notched a 70.

Duke will next play in the Bryan Park Collegiate Championship from March 31-April 2 in Browns Summitt, N.C.
