
Rodrigues Falls In Consolation Quarterfinals At All-American

TULSA, OKLA. - Duke senior Peter Rodrigues fell in the quarterfinal round of the consolation bracket on Saturday at the 2006 Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
Rodrigues, the 44th-ranked player in the nation, fell to Stephen Bass of Notre Dame in a hard-fought three-set match, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Previously, Rodrigues defeated 32nd-ranked Andreas Siljestrom of Middle Tennessee State, 6-4, 7-5, in a second-round match on Friday, after posting a win over Brian Hung of Michigan (6-2, 6-0) in the initial round of the back draw on Thursday.
Rodrigues fell to seventh-ranked Arnau Brugues of Tulsa in straight sets in main-draw action (6-2, 6-3) on Thursday before entering consolation play.
The Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships offer the first national singles and doubles titles of the 2006-07 collegiate tennis season, and are followed by the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in November and the season-ending NCAA Championships in May.
