CLEMSON, S.C. - No. 2 Duke will have to wait another day to play No. 8 Clemson, as Friday night's scheduled 7:00 p.m. match was pushed back until Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Consistent rain throughout the day made Historic Riggs Field unplayable. With a win on Saturday, the Blue Devils would clinch the ACC regular season title. They may not have to wait that long, because if Virginia loses to or ties Wake Forest tonight at 8:00 p.m., Duke would automatically claim the top seed in the ACC tournament regardless of tomorrow's outcome. There is more than just the ACC title on the line, because No. 1 Southern Methodist University lost on Wednesday night, and a Blue Devil victory tomorrow could catapult them into the top spot in the nation.
