*** Today, Duke scored 40 points, the most by the Blue Devils since a 41-17 victory over Georgia Tech in 2003. Duke's 26-point margin of victory was the highest since a 29-3 victory over
*** Duke improved to 78-2-1 all-time when scoring 40 or more points in a game.
*** Sophomore CB John Talley had his second interception of the season (eighth in his career), followed by a 35-yard return. He now has 207 career interception return yards, third all-time at Duke. Immediately ahead are Fred Folger (283 yards) and Jack Wilson (223).
*** Sophomore TB Justin Boyle scored on a three-yard run with 2:46 remaining in the first quarter to give Duke a 7-0 lead. Boyle added another in the fourth quarter, a six-yarder, to give him four rushing TDs on the season. He ended the day with a career high in rushing yards (113) and rushing touchdowns (2).

*** Senior TE Andy Roland made his first four receptions of the 2005 season this afternoon. He ended the game with four catches for 39 yards.
*** True freshmen Zach Asack, Raphael Chestnut, Clifford Harris, Ryan Radloff and Kris Stubbs all saw their first game action vs. VMI today. Junior kickers Randy DeSmyter (one field goal and three extra points) and Greg Meyers (one extra point) also saw their first game action.
*** Freshman QB Zach Asack threw his first career touchdown pass, a six-yarder to freshman Marcus Jones with 4:08 left in the third quarter. Asack ended the game 4-for-4 passing for 38 yards and a touchdown. Jones, who started at WR the past two weeks, also saw his first action as a QB today.
*** Junior CB Deonto McCormick recovered a fumble with 5:55 left in the first quarter that led to Duke's first scoring drive. Senior S Brian Greene caused the turnover. Greene later tallied an interception, the first of the season and third of his career.
*** Junior K Randy DeSmyter connected on his first career field goal ? a 40-yarder with 10:24 left in the third quarter.
*** Senior FB Malcolm Ruff had his first career reception this afternoon, an eight-yarder in the first quarter.
