Duke's 1989 ACC championship and All American Bowl appearance is recapped in this show that aired on Dec. 30, 1989. This is Steve Spurrier's final show as the Duke coach. Host Bob Harris taped several of his segments with the Birmingham skyline in the background, then interviewed Spurrier in the locker room after the bowl loss to Texas Tech at Legion Field. The show includes a game-by-game recap of the season, an extensive feature on All-America wide receiver Clarkston Hines, some highlights from the bowl game and Spurrier bidding Duke fans farewell.

Duke football took part in the annual ACC Football Kickoff Thursday at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown.
