Sophomore Katie Chrest was named this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week, after leading the No. 6 Blue Devils to a 10-9 victory over No. 5 Virginia.
The Hampstead, Md., native tallied three goals, three assists and two draw controls, helping the Blue Devils to a 3-0 record in the ACC this season and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming ACC Championship. In the first half, the attacker recorded three assists to help Duke to a 6-2 halftime lead. She then scored three of the team's four second half goals to hold off the Cavaliers.
For the season, Chrest leads Duke in goals (24) and points (30) and is tied for second in assists with six. The Blue Devils return to action on Friday, April 9 with a road contest against No. 4 Loyola at 4:00 p.m.
