Blue Devils Lead By Nine Shots At The Coca-Cola Duke Golf Classic

DURHAM, N.C. - The Blue Devils lead by nine shots over Michigan State after two rounds of play at the 2004 Coca-Cola Duke Golf Classic at the par-72 Duke Golf Club. Junior Ryan Blaum and freshman Michael Quagliano were the low players for Duke, with each posting a three-under-par two-round score of 141. Michigan State's Matt Harmon (67-71--138) is the overall leader at six-under-par. The field consists of 78 players from 14 teams.
Blaum blistered the back nine of his second round, coming in in 30 shots to post a second-round 68 after a 73 in the morning. Quagliano shot even-par 72 in the morning round and got into red numbers in the afternoon with a 69. Duke junior Nathan Smith is also in the top ten, sitting in a three-way tie for eighth place with a two-over-par score of 70-76--146. Freshman Michael Schachner rounded out the scorers for Duke with rounds of 76 and 75 for a total of 151, good for a tie for 31st place.
Monday's final round will feature tee times beginning at 8 a.m. Results from day one and final round pairings are listed below.
