The Duke University women's lacrosse team travels to Harrisonburg, Va. on Wednesday to take on eighth-ranked James Madison at 6:00 p.m.. The Blue Devils, 11-3 on the season, are ranked fourth in the latest IWLCA and Inside Lacrosse polls, while James Madison owns an 11-4 ledger and the eighth spot in the IWLCA rankings.
Offensively, Duke is led by the trio of Katie Chrest, Lauren Gallagher and Kate Kaiser. Chrest leads the team with 42 points and 13 assists, while ranking second with 29 goals. Gallagher has collected 39 points (29 goals and 10 assists), while Kaiser paces the team with 30 goals to go along with four assists.
Junior Meghan Miller continues her solid all-around play with a team best 34 caused turnovers, 45 ground balls, 16 draw controls and eight goals. Meghan Walters, a junior defender, is also playing well; ranking among the team leaders in caused turnovers (27), ground balls (44) and draw controls (22).
The Blue Devils lead the all-time series with James Madison, 3-1. Duke won last year's match, 12-7, as Gallagher and Erin O'Shaughnessy each collected three goals. O'Shaughnessy added two assists for a career best five-point game.
