The Duke University women's lacrosse had its six-game win streak snapped in an 8-6 decision against 20th-ranked Vanderbilt on Wednesday at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex. The Blue Devils, ranked third in the latest IWLCA poll, are now 9-2 overall with a 5-2 mark against teams ranked in the top-20 of the IWLCA poll. Vanderbilt improves to 4-4 on the year with the win.
Sophomore Kristy Dirks (Annapolis, Md.) collected two goals for the Blue Devils, while freshman Katie Chrest (Hampstead, Md.) registered one goal and one assist. Kate Kaiser (Cockeysville, Md.), Erin O'Shaughnessy (Englewood, Colo.) and Jessica Bennett (Gladstone, N.J.) also had goals with Katie Laschinger (Lutherville, Md.) recording an assist.
Duke wraps up a four-game road trip on Sunday, April 6 when it faces fourth-ranked Virginia at 1:00 p.m.
