Duke's Matt Zielinski Named ACC Player of the Week

DURHAM, N.C. - Duke senior defensive tackle Matt Zielinski has been named the ACC's Defensive Lineman of the Week announced on Monday by league officials.

Zielinski, a 6-3, 290-pound native of East Amherst, N.Y., led the Blue Devil defense with nine total tackles in Duke's 23-6 loss at 19th-ranked Tennessee this past Saturday. He added four tackles for loss, two quarterback sacks and two quarterback hurries in the effort.

For the season, Zielinski has 55 total tackles while his 14.5 tackles for loss rank third in the ACC.

Other weekly award winners included N.C. State's Philip Rivers (Offensive Back), Wake Forest's Mark Moroz (Offensive Line), Florida State's Leroy Smith (Defensive Back), Maryland's Nick Novak (Specialist) and Wake Forest's Jyles Tucker (Rookie).
