Head coach Kerstin Kimel announced the signing of ten high school standouts for next season. Laura Anderson (Severna Park, Md.), Beth Bafford (Severna Park, Md.), Katie Chrest (Hampstead, Md.), Ashley Coll (Phoenixville, Pa.), Andrea Crosby (Concord, N.H.), Danielle Freedman (Charlottesville, Va.), Kaitlin Hancock (Severna Park, Md.), Megan Huether (Lutherville, Md.), Ashley Martens (Potomac, Md.) and Jessica McIntyre (Monclair, N.J.) join a program that has made four consecutive NCAA Elite Eight appearances.
"I am thrilled with the quality of student-athletes that will be joining our 2002-03 team. All are exceptional students, highly competitive athletes and outstanding young women," said head coach Kerstin Kimel. " I am confident that they will make significant contributions to both our lacrosse program and the Duke community throughout their academic and athletic careers."

Ashley Coll (Phoenixville, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) - defense - Led her teams to the Philadelphia Catholic League titles in field hockey and lacrosse ... received All-Main Line, All-Delco and All-Catholic honors in field hockey, lacrosse and basketball ... U.S. Army Reserve Scholar Athlete Award winner ... Presidential Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence ... a lacrosse Academic All-America ... was also elected to play in the All-Star Labor Basketball Classic.
Andrea Crosby (Concord, N.H./Concord) - midfield - Led Concord High School to three-straight state championships ... named the MVP of the NHIAA Division I state tournament ... finished the season with 70 goals and 50 assists ... closed her career with school records in goals (244), assists (157) and points (401) ... first team All-New Hampshire ... set a school record with 10 goals in a game ... led the state with 120 points as a senior ... invited to play in the New Hampshire vs. Vermont all-star game ... also received an invitation to play in the North vs. South All-Star game at the Youth World Festival.

Kaitlin Hancock (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) - midfield - Teamed with Laura Anderson to guide Severna Park to back-to-back state championships ...
