HANOVER, N.H. -- Kristen Foster, an All-America goaltender for Duke University, has joined the Dartmouth women's lacrosse staff as an assistant coach.
A 2002 graduate of Duke with a major in economics, Foster captained the Blue Devils this past season.
She's collected numerous honors throughout her four-year career and helped lead Duke to the 1999 NCAA final four and the number three ranking in the nation. In 2001, Duke was ranked as high as second nationally with Foster in the nets.
A member of the U.S. developmental squad, she earned first team All-America recognition in 2001 and was a third-team pick this past spring. An All-ACC honoree, Foster twice was nominated for the Tewaaraton Trophy, given annually to the top player in the nation. Foster also has extensive camp experience, working at Dartmouth, Stanford, Maryland and Duke, among others.
She replaces Randi Borgen, who resigned to pursue a master's degree in sports administration. Foster joins Amy Patton, Dartmouth's head coach who is entering her 11th season with the Big Green, and assistant coach Sarah Martin, now in her fourth season.
