Duke Head Coach Kerstin Kimel
"I think that Loyola had a good day and I thought it was just one of those
games where the ball bounced their way and didn't bounce ours. I thought
their goalie played great. We had plenty of opportunities in the second
half and we just couldn't get it by her."
"They played a saggy defense and I felt like it was very clogged up in the middle. We didn't have our usual lanes that we normally get in there."
On the goal that was disallowed by Kate Kaiser: "I think that changed the momentum completely. That was our chance."
Duke Attacker Kate Kaiser
"We are obviously upset as we wanted to get to the final four. Like Kerstin
said, things didn't go our way today."
Loyola Head Coach Diane Geppi-Aikens
What were the keys to the game:
"I thought at the beginning of the game it was actually the midfield play.
We came up with a lot of balls and our defense had a lot of stops. We
bobbled the ball a lot. I thought the key was keeping our composure and
trying to minimize our mistakes."
"I asked them at halftime to handle the pressure and stick to our game plan."
