The Blue Devils opened the match winning all three doubles matches and claiming the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles the Devils tandem of Amanda Johnson and Megan Miller, the No. 4 ranked ITA doubles team, defeated the Pack's Katrina Gildemeister and Jackie Leskovar, 8-3. Ansley Cargill and Kathy Sell, ranked No. 31 by the ITA, defeated NC State's Jennifer Jassawalla and Kristin Lam, 8-1 at No. 2, while Hillary Adams and Prim Siripipat teamed to defeat the Wolfpack's duo of Kristen Nicholls and Myrna Bawono at No. 3, 8-3.
In singles action, Duke won all six singles matches in straight sets. Cargill, ranked No. 2 by the ITA, defeated NC State's Lam, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 to lead the Devil attack. Cargill was recently named the ITA National Player of the Month.
Duke will host important home matches this weekend against Maryland and Virginia on Saturday and Sunday. Both matches will be at 12:00 PM in the Duke Tennis Stadium.
The NC State women's tennis squad will return to action on Monday, April 9th when they host in-state rival, East Carolina Pirates at the NC State Tennis Complex. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m.
