Duke Women's Lacrosse Ranked Second Nationally; Will Travel To JMU Thursday

DURHAM, N.C. -- The Duke women's lacrosse team used an impressive weekend in
Orlando, Florida to move to second in the latest IWLCA rankings, released
Monday. The ranking equals the highest ever by the program, as the Blue
Devils opened up the 2000 season at number two in the polls.
Duke split its weekend games at the ACC SpringFest at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex, defeating sixth-ranked North Carolina 10-5 before falling in the championship game to top-ranked Maryland 15-12. Despite the loss, Duke took advantage of several other losses by highly-ranked teams to climb up the polls.
The second-ranked Blue Devils will travel to Harrisonburg, Virginia to face 11th-ranked James Madison on Thursday at 4:00 PM. Duke then returns home for Senior Day to host sixth-ranked Dartmouth at noon on Sunday. Six seniors will be honored for their efforts to the program over the last four years. Dartmouth is coming off of a 13-5 thrashing of then-No. 4 Princeton, making the game critical for Duke's NCAA post-season seedings.
