DURHAM, N.C. - Duke head football coach Carl Franks announced on Monday that defensive coordinator Bob Trott has been dismissed from the Blue Devil coaching staff.
"I appreciate Bob Trott's loyalty, hard work and dedication to Duke football," Franks said. "We've reached a point where it is time to make a change with our defense."
Trott spent six seasons as Duke's defensive coordinator from 1996-2001 following five years in the National Football League with the New York Giants (1991-92) and New England Patriots (1993-95). The 1976 graduate of North Carolina also served assistant coaching stints at North Carolina (1976-77), Air Force (1978-83), Arkansas (1984-89) and Clemson (1990).
