W&M opened the second period scoring when freshman Allison Evans (Annandale, VA/ Annandale) recorded her third goal of the season at 23:34. Duke came back with another scoring spurt with three goals over the next ten minutes. Each team traded goals three times each for the next seven minutes of the game to bring the score to 16-9 with 4:09 remaining. The Blue Devils added two insurance goals in the final two minutes of the contest for the final score of 18-9. Schneider led the Tribe scoring with three goals, bringing her total to five on the season. Sophomore Colette Chaput (Toronto, Ontario/Malvern) and Lowman each added a pair of scores, while Tara Hannaford (New London, CT/Portsmouth Abbey) and Lowman each had one goal to round out W&M's scoring. Senior keeper Jacque Orsi (Ribbinsville, NJ/The Peddie School) recorded 15 saves on the 44 shots that she faced in the game.
For the Blue Devils, Kelly Dirks led all scorers with two goals and three assists. Tricia Martin scored three goals, and Claire Finn and Lauren Gallagher each had two goals and an assist. Shannon Chaney played the goal in the first half and had five saves. She was replaced in the second half by Kristen Foster who had seven saves. Duke faces Virginia next on April 8 at 2:00 pm in Durham.
