Martin Named Division I Women's Lacrosse Player Of The Week

DURHAM, N.C. (Mar. 27) - Duke women's lacrossee senior forward Tricia Martin was named Warrior/Inside Lacrosse Women's Division I Player of the Week on Monday.

Martin, a native of Huntington, N.Y., tallied seven goals and two assists in leading Duke to a pair of victories over nationally ranked opponents. On Wednesday she scored two goals and assisted on two as Duke defeated #18 Vanderbilt (13-7). Then, on Saturday she scored five goals against #6 Georgetown as Duke came away with a 13-9 victory. Two of the goals against Georgetown came in the final three minutes of the first half, which gave Duke a 6-4 halftime lead.

For the season Martin has totaled 21 goals and six assists in seven games. Duke is currently 5-2 overall and is ranked #3 in the nation. The Blue Devils will play at #5 North Carolina on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
