I am very pleased that Stephanie has joined our staff," said Duke head coach Kerstin Kimel. "Her leadership and experiences as a member of Loyola' s 2000 Final Four team and the U.S. Developmental squad will be a tremendous addition to our staff as well as an asset to our entire program.
A 2000 graduate of Loyola College, Sweet earned a degree in Psychology in May. Sweet spent four years playing lacrosse at Loyola from 1997-2000. During her career, she was a two-year starter and served as team captain for the 1999 and 2000 seasons.
Each season, Loyola appeared in the NCAA Tournament with a Final Four appearance in 2000. She helped lead Loyola to the CAA championship in her sophomore and senior years. Sweet was awarded the Loyola Athletic Department Leadership Award during her senior year. She concluded her collegiate career with 35 goals and 11 assists. Sweet is currently a member of the U.S. Developmental Team.
Sweet, a native of Smithtown, N.Y, was a teammate of Duke assistant coach Allison Valentino during her freshman year at Loyola.
