Missy Daffron joined the Iron Dukes in October 2021 as an Assistant Development Officer and currently serves as an Associate Director/Development Officer for the Iron Dukes Major Gifts team.  Daffron is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift donors in their philanthropy toward Duke Athletics and the Duke student-athlete experience. Her primary areas of coverage include California, Arizona, South Carolina, and the North Carolina triangle area for the Iron Dukes. Daffron is the Iron Dukes liaison for Women’s Basketball, Fencing, Spirit Team and Duke University Marching Band.

Daffron first came to Duke as part of the Duke Recreation & Physical Education staff, first as an instructor for Social Dance and Latin Dance in August 1996, and most recently served as Sponsorship Officer and Physical Education faculty through September 2021. Prior to working at Duke, Daffron owned and managed several Fred Astaire Dance Studios and was an area developer for over 25 years.Â

A native of Lonoke, Arkansas, she received her B.B.A in Organizational Leadership & Management from Greensboro College. Daffron resides in Durham with her husband, Doug. The couple has three children Omar, Drew, and Mariah.
