Laura Claussen, MS, LAT, ATC is an Athletic Training Fellow with Duke Athletics, where she provides medical coverage for the Blue Devils' fencing program.
Claussen earned both her Bachelor of Science in Health and Kinesiology (2024) and Master of Science in Athletic Training (2026) from Purdue University. During her athletic training education, she gained clinical experience with the Purdue volleyball, football, tennis and cheer programs, as well as high school athletics and Forte Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. These diverse experiences provided opportunities to care for athletes across a variety of competitive levels and clinical settings.
Claussen is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT)Â and an active member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA). She has presented scholarly work at both the state and international levels, including a poster presentation at the 2025 World Federation of Athletic Therapy and Training World Congress titled "Anteroinferior and Posteroinferior Labral Tear in a Recreational Athlete: A Type 4 Case Study," and a podium presentation at the 2026 Great Lakes Athletic Trainers' Association Annual Symposium titled "Concussion in a High School Athlete on the Autism Spectrum: A Level 4 Case Study."
Originally from Noblesville, Ind., Claussen is committed to advancing evidence-based athletic healthcare while providing comprehensive care to student-athletes.
