Kyle Serba joined the Duke Athletics staff in November of 2023 and serves as the Executive Director of Communications. He is the primary communications liaison for the Blue Devil men’s basketball team.

Serba became a member of the Duke staff following 29-plus years at North Carolina Central University, serving most recently as the Deputy Athletics Director for External Affairs where he oversaw strategic communications, marketing, corporate sponsorships, facilities, game operations, ticket operations, licensing and branding, NIL, letterwinners club, hall of fame and special events. He began his tenure at NCCU in August of 1994 as the school’s Sports Information Director, and was honored with the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s SID of the Year award four times in 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2006.

On October 20, 2006, Serba was enshrined into the NCCU Alex M. Rivera Athletics Hall of Fame.

Serba is the former President of the CIAA-Sports Information Directors Association and North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association.

Prior to joining the NCCU athletics staff, Serba worked two years as the Sports Information Director for the University at Albany (N.Y.). He also spent time as freelance public relations assistant for the New York State Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission and Institute for Non-Violence.

A native of Clifton Park, N.Y., Serba graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in public relations and journalism, along with a minor in speech communications. He was a four-year letterman on the Utica baseball squad, serving as team captain as a senior while batting .340 en route to second-team All-New York State accolades. Serba earned a master’s degree in physical education and recreation with a concentration in athletics administration from North Carolina Central University in December of 2019, graduating summa cum laude.
