Jalen Manning joined the Duke Athletics staff in October of 2021 as a Communications Staff Assistant. He was promoted to Assistant Director of Communications in July of 2022. In his role, Manning serves as the primary media contact for cross country, track and field and women’s basketball.

Prior to joining Duke, Manning was an Athletic Communications Assistant at Connecticut from 2018-2021. In this role, Manning assisted with the communications efforts of the men’s soccer, women’s hockey, rowing, women’s lacrosse, softball and men’s basketball programs.

Manning was an Athletic Communications Intern focusing on historical research and social media at Harvard for the 2017-18 academic year.

He gained additional experience working the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball first and second rounds, the 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Tournament Semifinal and Championship and the 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball East Regional.

Originally from Wichita, Kan., Manning was a four-year men's basketball manager at Tulsa, where he graduated in 2016 with a degree in communications. He earned his master’s degree in sport leadership from VCU in 2018.
