Billy Zarzour joined Duke Athletics in 2013 and currently serves as Director of Major Gifts. In his role, he develops and implements fundraising strategies while cultivating and stewarding philanthropic support for Duke Athletics. During his tenure, Zarzour has worked closely with donors to help them achieve their philanthropic goals, resulting in more than $45 million in charitable support for Duke Athletics. The Iron Dukes Major Gifts team has also achieved record-breaking success throughout the Made For This Campaign.
Since arriving at Duke, Zarzour has served in several roles within the Iron Dukes, including Assistant Director of Major Gifts, Assistant Director of the Iron Dukes Varsity Club, and Iron Dukes Varsity Club Assistant. Zarour also worked closely with former Vice President and Director of Athletics, Kevin White, and current Vice President and Director of Athletics, Nina King, while serving as Coordinator of Administrative Operations.
Throughout his career, he has worked with annual fund, sport-specific, and major gift donors and played a key role in the successful Building Champions Campaign, which surpassed its $250 million goal by raising more than $341 million.A Durham, N.C., native, Zarzour earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from High Point University and a master's degree in intercollegiate athletic administration from Western Kentucky University.
