Alfreda Hagans joined Duke Athletics in December 2023 and has served as Assistant Director of the Iron Dukes Annual Fund since January of 2026.

In her role, Hagans supports annual giving initiatives for Duke Athletics, working closely with sport-specific fundraising efforts, game day hospitality and donor engagement programs, including the Junior Iron Dukes. She collaborates with coaches and development officers to help drive philanthropic support and enhance the donor experience.

Previously, Hagans served as Assistant Director of Compliance, where she oversaw NCAA bylaw education and monitoring for several Duke programs, including track & field, cross country, women’s soccer, women’s lacrosse, rowing and field hockey.

A native of Pinetops, N.C., Hagans earned a degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Campbell University in 2016, where she was a member of the track & field team, followed by a Master of Education in Sports Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019.
