2020-21: Concluded the year with a 7-5 overall mark during singles action, including an 5-5 dual record … held a 3-0 mark on court four … finished ACC play with a 1-1 record … won three of last five matches … defeated N.C. State’s Collin Shick 6-0, 6-2 during the ACC Challenge for first win of the year … bested Alvaro Ariza or No. 38 Virginia Tech 7-6, 6-4 for first ACC victory of the season … in doubles action, finished with an 6-3 mark, including a 2-1 record in ACC play … competed mostly on court three, earning a 4-1 record … teamed up with five different partners for doubles action, playing the majority of time with Andrew Zhang … the pair finished 2-1, including a thrilling 7-6 (11) tiebreak decision over Josh Howard-Tripp and Alex Wesbrooks of Louisville … was 2-0 with teammate Michael Heller against Campbell and UNC Wilmington … competed on court one with Garrett Johns once, dropping a close 6-4 decision to Frazier Rengifo and Juan Lugo of East Tennessee State.

2019-20: Compiled an 18-5 overall singles record and went 4-4 in doubles action before his rookie season was shortened by COVID-19 ... held an 8-1 mark during his first dual season, including a 4-1 mark on court five … notched his first career victory on court two with a 6-2, 6-2 win against NC Central on Feb. 9 … earned his first collegiate win at Hawaii.

Prior to Duke: A five-star recruit ranked inside the top 40 in TennisRecruiting.net's Class of 2019 ... reached the main draw of the Panama F4 Futures event ... in juniors, advanced to the finals of the USTA National L2 Tournament in July of 2018 ... reached the fourth round of the USTA Boys' 18 & 16 National Clay Court Championships in 2018 and the Round of 16 in singles in 2019 ... at Laurel Springs School, recorded a perfect 15-0 record as a sophomore, winning the Florida state title ... garnered all-district recognition ... earned a spot in the state quarterfinals as a freshman.

Personal: Son of Jason Rubell and Michelle Simkins … father played tennis at Duke from 1988-91, earning All-America honors.
