Former Blue Devil Doug Macintosh joined the Blue Devil coaching staff as a student assistant coach in September 2022.
Macintosh was a member of the Duke tennis program during the 2021-22 season and won his lone singles match against LaQuon Gilchrist of N.C. Central 6-1, 6-0. He also garnered ACC Academic Honor Roll honors.
He arrived in Durham following a four-year (2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21) tennis career at Davidson College. During his time with the Wildcats, he held a 13-10 overall record in singles action and a 24-26 mark in doubles play. In 2019-20, Macintosh led the team with a record of 6-2 in singles play and a 10-2 mark in doubles action, including an 8-2 record with partner Axel Fries. He was given the team’s most improved award at the conclusion of the 2019-20 season and was twice named to the A-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll (2017-18 & 2018-19).
Macintosh graduated from Davidson in 2021 with a degree in economics and math. He is currently pursuing a master’s in economics from Duke’s Trinity College of Arts and Sciences.
