Delvin Jones joined the Duke football staff in January 2022, and currently serves as the director of external operations.
Prior to his time in Durham, Jones spent the 2021 season as the director of football operations at Fordham University. In that role, he directed and managed all aspects of the daily administrative operations of the football program. He also oversaw all team logistics and planning, such as flights, hotels, meals, and day-to-day scheduling. Jones managed a staff of ten student workers and one full time staff member as well.
Before transitioning to Fordham, Jones was the football operations coordinator at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) for the 2020 season. While with the Yellow Jackets, he managed the planning and team logistics/travel for the program and enforced team COVID-19 protocols and procedures to ensure student-athlete and staff safety.

In 2019, Jones served as the assistant AD for finance at Florida Gulf Coast University. During his time in Fort Myers, Jones oversaw the yearly department budget, including financial planning, analyst, reporting and human resources. He also served as the department’s main campus liaison for all business-related matters.

Prior to that, he spent four years (2015-18) at Georgia Tech as the financial operations specialist. In his first stint with the Yellow Jackets, Jones helped build and develop the athletics budget and worked with compliance to record and process all scholarships, meals, housing, and fees for student-athlete accounts.

Jones also had stints with Georgia State University as the assistant business manager (2011-14) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a football operations staff member (2010).
A native of New Orleans, Jones graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications. He also obtained a master’s degree in sports management from Louisiana State University in 2010.
