DURHAM, N.C.-- As the Duke women’s basketball team closes out ACC regular season action, here is a look at some of the former Blue Devils who are making waves in leagues overseas.
Mistie Bass – Duke ‘06
Canberra Capitals (Australia), 7-21
2017-18 Stats: 20 games, 11.7 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 1.4 APG, 1.1 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 22.5 MPG
Mistie Bass playsed in Australia on the Canberra Capitals and has seen action in 20 of 21 games. In her last performance, Bass led the team in minutes (30), contributing nine points and four rebounds to the team’s victory over Dandenong. The Canberra Capitals are currently off-season and will return to action later this year.
Alana Beard - Duke '04
CCC Polkowice, 11-16 (Poland) and 5-16 (Euroleague)
Alana Beard signed with CCC Polkowise last week, securing a spot on her sixth international team. Beard previously played on Israel’s Elitzur Ramla, Poland’s Wisla Krakow, Spain’s Perfumerias Avenida, South Korea’s S-Birds, and an Australian team. She has also played in the WNBA for 11 years on the Washington Mystics and the Los Angeles Sparks, earning the honor of WNBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2017. CCC Polkowice will return to action on February 21 against Sleza Wroclaw with Beard on its roster.
Chante Black - Duke '09
KDB Life Winnus (South Korea), 4-30
2017-18 Stats: 28 games, 6.8 PPG, 5.4 RBG, 0.5 APG, 0.4 SPG, 1.1 BPG, 17.6 MPG
Chante Black has seen action in 28 out of 30 games in South Korean play as a member of KDB Life Winnus. In her last game, Black came off the bench for 23.5 minutes, recording 11 points and five rebounds. KDB Life Winnus and Black will compete next against Our Bank on February 22.
Oderah Chidom – Duke ‘17
Cinkarna Celje, 15-15 (Slovenia) and 12-14 (WABA)

2017-18 Stats (WABA): 12 games, 11.4 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 2.8 APG, 2.3 SPG, 1.7 BPG, 25.8 MPG
Oderah Chidom starts for the undefeated Cinkarna Celje and leads the team in points (11.4) in WABA play. In Slovenian League action, Chidom played 26 minutes off the bench to record 10 points and nine rebounds in Celje’s most recent victory. Chidom and Celje will play Beroe on February 21 during Round Five of the team’s second stage of play.
Kendall Cooper – Duke ‘17
Cavigal Nice Basket 06 (France), 3-14
2017-18 Stats: 11 games, 5.0 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 0.5 APG, 1.1 SPG, 1.1 BPG, 18.1 MPG
Kendall Cooper has begun her international career by starting 11 games for France’s Cavigal Nice Basket. In Cooper’s last game, she came off the bench to play 21 minutes and score eight points, as well as record four rebounds and one block. Cooper and Nice will be back in action on March 3 to take on Tarbes.
Monique Currie – Duke ‘06
KB Stars (South Korea), 23-30
2017-18 Stats: 30 games, 12.6 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 2.3 APG, 1.1 SPG, 0.4 BPG, 20.8 MPG
Monique Currie currently plays in South Korea for the KB Stars and has seen action in all 30 games this season. In her last game, Currie recorded 17.9 minutes of play, contributing 10 points to the team’s victory over Our Bank. Currie and the KB Stars will take on Shinhan Bank in their next game on February 21.
Chelsea Gray – Duke ‘14
Botasspor Adana (Turkey), 11-18
2017-18 Stats: 15 games, 15.8 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 6.6 APG, 1.6 SPG, 0.1 BPG, 32.4 MPG
Playing in 15 games for Turkey's Bottasspor Adana, Chelsea Gray leads the team in minutes (32.4) and points (15.8). She recently recorded a season high of 28 points and 38 minutes in a hard-fought game against Besiktas, leading the team again in both categories. This match was the start of a six-game streak where Gray scored more than 15 points and competed for at least 35 minutes per game. Gray and Botasspor will go head-to-head with Abdullah Gul on March 3.
Haley Peters – Duke ‘14
Union Lyon Basket Feminin (France), 8-15
2017-18 Stats: 15 games, 16.0 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 2.1 APG, 1.3 SPG, 0.1 BPG, 32.6 MPG
Haley Peters has started every game this season for France’s Union Lyon Basket Feminin and leads the team in minutes (32.6). Peters’ most recent performance saw her helping the team to a victory over Landes by scoring 13 points and recording nine rebounds in 34 minutes off the bench. Peters and Union Lyon will compete next on March 3 when the team plays Flammes.
Angela Salvadores – Duke (2015-16)
Sopron Basket, 13-15 (Hungary) and 10-14 (Euroleague)
2017-18 Stats (Hungary): 12 games, 7.6 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 3.1 APG, 1.4 SPG, 0.0 BPG, 18.1 MPG

Angela Salvadores has seen action in both the Hungarian League and Euroleague as a member of Sopron Basket. In the Hungarian League, Salvadores has come off the bench for 18.1 minutes in 12 games, recording 7.6 points and 3.0 rebounds. Euroleague play has seen Salvadores compete in 13 games for 21.0 minutes, featuring 7.2 points and 2.4 rebounds. Salvadores and Sopron Basket will compete next against MTK on February 21.
Kathleen Scheer – Duke ‘12
Cosinus Widzew Lodz (Poland), 2-14

Kathleen Scheer has seen action in 10 games for Poland’s Cosinus Widzew Lodz team and leads the team in rebounds (8.2), points (14.2), blocks (1.6), and steals (1.8). In Scheer’s last game, she led the team in minutes played (38) and total rebounds (8), scoring 13 points and helping her team to a 76-73 victory over MKK Siedlce. Scheer and her team will take on Energa Torun on February 21.
Shay Selby – Duke ‘12

Shay Selby currently plays for Spain’s Tuenti Movil Estudiantes Madrid and has seen action in 10 games. She leads the team in minutes (29.7) and features 11.9 points and 4.0 rebounds. In her most recent performance, Selby led in rebounds (8) and co-led in minutes (37), recording 13 points in a close loss to Gipuzkoa UPV. Selby and Tuenti Movil Estudiantes will go head-to-head with Campus Promete on February 21.
Jasmine Thomas – Duke ‘11

Jasmine Thomas has started 15 out of 16 games for Turkey’s OGM Orman team, leading the team in minutes (36.5), points (16.3), and steals (1.6). She was the leading scorer with 23 points in her team’s most recent victory over Istanbul Niversitesi and produced seven rebounds and three steals. Thomas and her squad will be back in action on March 3 when they take on Besiktas.
Krystal Thomas – Duke ‘11

Krystal Thomas has seen action in both the Turkish league and Eurocup as a starting member of Mersin Buyuksehir Belediye. Thomas has played in 16 games in the Turkish league and 12 in Eurocup, leading the team in minutes (34.6; 33.8) and rebounds (12.2; 11.8) in both leagues. In one of her recent games, Thomas played 36 minutes, recording 16 rebounds and 19 points against Duke’s Jasmine Thomas on OGM Orman. Mersin Buyuksehir Belediye and Thomas will be back in action on March 1 against Venezia in Round 1 of the EuroGup quarter-finals.
Chloe Wells – Duke ‘14
DSK Basketball Nymburk, 16-18 (Czech Republic) and 1-6 (EuroCup)
2017-18 Stats (Czech Republic): 9 games, 12.4 PPG, 1.9 RPG, 3.8 APG, 2.7 SPG, 0.1 BPG, 21.6 MPG

Chloe Wells currently plays for DSK Basketball Nymburk, competing in games in both the Czech Republic League (9) and EuroCup (2). Wells features 12.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in the Czech Republic league and 9.0 points and 1.0 steals in EuroCup play. In her last appearance, Wells came off the bench to play 36 minutes, co-leading in points scored (17) and recording three rebounds. Wells and her squad will be back in action on March 3 when the team takes on Sokol HK.
Elizabeth Williams – Duke ‘15
Liaoning Hengye (China), 9-26
2017-18 Stats: 25 games, 17.0 PPG, 9.8 RPG, 1.4 APG, 2.1 SPG, 2.3 BPG, 36.0 MPG
As a starter in 25 games, Elizabeth Williams led her team Liaoning Hengye in all aspects of the game, with 36.0 minutes, 17.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, and 2.1 steals. In Williams’ last game, she recorded 40 minutes of play and led the team in rebounds (9), steals (8), and blocks (6), while also scoring 12 points. Liaoning Hengye’s season ended on January 17, but Williams will be back on the court in May as a member of the WNBA team Atlanta Dream.
