DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women’s basketball program will be without the services of Blue Devil sophomore forward
Oderah Chidom for the remainder of the 2014-15 campaign with an injured shoulder.
Chidom, who is out of Oakland, Calif., suffered a dislocated left shoulder for the third time this season at Wake Forest Feb. 5 and will require surgery. The surgery date has been set for Feb. 19.
Standing 6-4, Chidom had seen action in 21 contests, while starting six. She was averaging 8.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and hitting 56.6 percent of her field goals. Chidom had started three straight games before suffering the injury again.
The loss of Chidom now leaves the Blue Devils with only eight recruited scholarship student-athletes as Duke embarks on a four-game road swing. Next on the schedule is Virginia Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7:00 p.m., in Charlottesville, Va.
