Shane Battier
Miami Heat - Forward
Drafted: 1st Round (6th Pick) by the Memphis Grizzlies (2001)
2011-12 Stats: 16 games, 4.4 PPG, 1.9 RPG, 0.8 APG, 0.8 SPG, 0.6 BPG
Battier continues to provide a defensive presence for the Heat as a solid
reserve off the bench. A versatile player who can play at guard or forward, he
drew two starting assignments last week in place of an injured Dwyane Wade and
has now started three of Miami's last five games. Battier and the Heat are
currently in first place in the Southeast Division with a 13-5 record. They
have won five of their last six games.
Carlos Boozer
Chicago Bulls - Forward/Center
Drafted: 2nd Round (35th pick) by the Cleveland
Cavaliers (2002)
2011-12 Stats: 19 games, 15.2 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 1.5 APG, 1.2 SPG, 0.6 BPG
Boozer continues to be an offensive powerhouse for the Chicago Bulls who went
3-1 this past week. Boozer recorded his
fifth double-double of the season scoring 19 points and grabbing 14 rebounds in
a 114-75 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers and has since extended his
double-digit scoring streak to eight straight games. He just missed adding two
more double-doubles in two of those games, grabbing nine rebounds in wins over
Charlotte and New Jersey.
Elton Brand
Philadelphia 76ers - Forward/Center
Drafted: 1st Round (1st pick) by the Chicago Bulls
(1999)
2011-12 Stats: 17 Games, 10.8 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 1.5 APG, 1.2 SPG, 1.5 BPG
Despite coming down with the stomach flu, Brand led the 76ers to a 2-1 record
last week, scoring double digits in all three games. He tallied 17 points and nine rebounds in a
103-83 victory over the Washington Wizards.
Brand is second on the team with 7.2 rebounds per game behind Spencer
Hawes and has the 76ers in first place in the Atlantic Division with a 12-5
record.
Luol Deng
Chicago Bulls - Forward/Center
Drafted: 1st Round (7th pick) by the Phoenix Suns
(2004)
2011-12 Stats: 18 games, 15.9 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 2.6 APG, 1.2 SPG, 0.8 BPG
Deng tied his season-high of 22 points in a 95-89 win over the Charlotte
Bobcats, but unfortunately injured his left wrist in the fourth quarter is now
listed as week-to-week. "It could always
be worse, Deng said. "Injuries happen."
Deng currently ranks second on the team, behind Derrick Rose, with 15.9
points per game.
Chris Duhon
Orland Magic - Guard
Drafted: 2nd Round (38th pick) by the Chicago
Bulls (2004)
2011-12 Stats: 16 Games, 2.8 PPG, 1.5 RPG, 2.4 APG, 0.5 SPG, 0.1 BPG
Duhon continues to provide the Magic with solid minutes off the bench. He played 25 minutes and tallied eight
points, four assists, one rebound, three steals and just one turnover in a
102-83 win over the Pacers on Tuesday night. He has a 2.4:1 assist to turnover
ratio for the season and is shooting 50.0 percent from three-point range for
the 12-5 Magic.
Mike Dunleavy
Milwaukee Bucks - Guard/Forward
Drafted: 1st Round (3rd pick) by the Golden State
Warriors (2002)
2011-12 Stats: 6 Games, 8.5 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 2.5 APG, 0.8 SPG, 0.0 BPG
Dunleavy returned to action last Friday after missing 10 games due to illness
and a groin injury. After playing sparse
minutes in his first two games back, he quickly rounded back into form by
scoring 17 points in 31 minutes against the Atlanta Hawks and 18 points in 28
minutes in a win over the Rockets.
The Bucks are now 3-1 with wins over the Knicks, Heat and Rockets since
Dunleavy rejoined the lineup.
Gerald Henderson
Charlotte Bobcats - Shooting Guard
Drafted: 1st Round (12th pick) by the Charlotte
Bobcats (2009)
2011-12 Stats: 17 games, 15.5 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 1.9 APG, 1.1 SPG, 0.5 BPG
Henderson continues to be one of the most consistent scorers for the Charlotte
Bobcats. He scored 22 points and had nine
rebounds and an assist in a 95-89 loss to the Chicago Bulls last Saturday and
has scored in double figures the last six games. Henderson took a bad fall on a
hard foul in Tuesday's game against the Knicks, however, and missed Charlotte's
Wednesday night game against the Wizards. Henderson leads the Bobcats in scoring
with 15.5 points per game and over 34 minutes per game.
Grant Hill
Phoenix Suns - Forward
Drafted: 1st Round (3rd pick) by the Detroit
Pistons (1994)
2011-12 Stats: 15 Games, 9.3 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 1.5 APG, 0.8 SPG, 0.8 BPG
Hill has picked up his offensive production over the past four games and scored
in double figures in back-to-back outings this week. In Monday's 93-87 loss to
Dallas, he scored a season-high 19 points and followed with 11 points in a
99-96 loss to Toronto. He has maintained his defensive contributions as well
and helped the Suns to a 79-71 win over Boston by adding four steals and a pair
of blocks. The Suns are currently 6-11
and third in the Pacific division.
Kyrie Irving
Cleveland Cavaliers - Point Guard
Drafted: 1st Round (1st pick) by the Cleveland
Cavaliers (2011)
2011-12 Stats: 15 games, 17.4 PPG, 3.3 RGP, 4.9 APG, 0.7 SPG, 0.6 BPG
Despite being in the midst of a four-game losing streak, Irving continues to be
a strong contender for NBA Rookie of the Year, leading his team with 17.4
points and 4.9 assists per game. He tallied 18 points, two assists, two
rebounds, and a block in Saturday's 121-94 loss to the Hawks. Irving scored in double figures in 15
straight games until that streak ended on Wednesday night against the Knicks
when he scored seven points. Despite an off shooting night when he went
1-for-7, he still managed to dish out seven assists while committing only two
turnovers.
Dahntay Jones
Indiana Pacers - Guard/Forward (2003)
Drafted: 1st Round (20th pick) by the Boston
Celtics
2011-12 Stats: 15 Games, 5.5 PPG, 2.1 RPG, 0.7 APG, 0.4 SPG, 0.3 BPG
Jones continues to give the Pacers solid minutes off the bench, averaging 16.6
minutes per game. He helped the Pacers
to a 2-1 week, improving to 11-5 overall to hold on to the No. 2 spot in the
Central Division. Jones recorded nine
points and was perfect from the free throw line in three straight games last
week, helping the Pacers to wins over the Warriors and Lakers.
Corey Maggette
Charlotte Bobcats - Forward
Drafted: 1st Round (13th pick) by the Seattle
SuperSonics (1999)
2011-12 Stats: 6 Games, 12.2 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 1.5 APG, 0.5 SPG, 0.2 BPG
Maggette is still out due to a hamstring injury. There is no definite timetable for his
return. Maggette hasn't played since Jan. 4, where he scored 12 points in a
118-110 win over the New York Knicks. He and fellow Bobcat and former Blue
Devil Gerald Henderson took some time last Saturday to come watch the Blue
Devils play Florida State in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Josh McRoberts
Los Angeles Lakers - Forward/Center
Drafted: 2nd Round (37th pick) by the Portland
Trail Blazers (2007)
2011-12 Stats: 12 Games, 3.7 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 1.4 APG, 0.7 SPG, 0.7 BPG
McRoberts has healed from his foot injury, but has seen his minutes decline
over the past four games. While not much of a scoring threat for the Lakers,
McRoberts continues to provide solid defense and picked off three steals while
blocking two shots in Sunday's loss to the Pacers. He also grabbed a
season-high seven rebounds in the 92-80 loss to the Orland Magic last Friday.
J.J. Redick
Orlando Magic - Shooting Guard
Drafted: 1st Round (11th pick) by the Orlando
Magic (2006)
2011-12 Stats: 17 Games, 12.1 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 2.4 APG, 0.5 SPG, 0.1 BPG
Redick
had an efficient week, scoring 15 points in games against the Lakers and the
Pacers, both Magic wins. Redick contributed a season-high six assists against Los
Angeles while knocking down 3-of-6 three-point attempts. The NCAA's all-time
three-point leader, Redick has sank three treys in five games this year and is
averaging 12.1 points per game.
Nolan Smith
Portland Trail Blazers - Point Guard
Drafted: 1st Round (21st pick) by the Portland
Trail Blazers (2011)
2011-12 Stats: 11 Games, 2.1 PPG, 0.8 RPG, 0.8 APG, 0.3 SPG, 0.1 BPG
Smith
earned praise from Portland head coach Nate McMillan after keying a 13-0 run in
the Trail Blazers' three-point to Atlanta last week. Smith added three points
and an assist during that run while also providing solid defense, leading
McMillan to publicly note that Smith would receive more minutes moving forward.
He followed up on the promise, putting Smith into the lineup in Portland's last
six games.
Shelden Williams
New Jersey Nets - Forward/Center
Drafted: 1st Round (5th pick) by the Atlanta Hawks
(2006)
2011-12 Stats: 18 Games, 4.7 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 0.3 APG, 0.6 SPG, 0.8 BPG

points per game. In a Monday loss to Carlos Boozer (14 points) and the Bulls,
Williams recorded seven points and six rebounds in just 15 minutes. He followed
that performance with seven rebounds and a pair of blocks in a 97-90 victory
over the 76ers.
