Coach Boyle Improving

Here is an update on Joanne Boyle's condition as of Monday, Dec. 10, 2001. Coach Boyle is doing much better as she is very energetic and verbal. She is listed as stable and improving at the Duke Medical Center.
On Friday, Coach Boyle had an angiogram and it showed a small avm, which was clearly the site of the original bleeding. She went ahead and had the surgery to remove it on Saturday morning and the surgery was a complete success. She now has the security that this problem will not arise in the future. Coach Boyle will begin going to rehab towards the end of the week at Durham Regional.
We still ask that she has no visitors as she needs to get rest and if you would like to send anything to her please send it to the Duke women's basketball office. You can still send well wishes on the web site.
