DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men's tennis team closed the regular season with a bang, earning two of the ACC's three weekly awards after securing both the player and doubles team of the week.
Â
SeniorÂ
Pedro Rodenas garnered ACC player of the week accolades for the first time this season while the Blue Devil tandem of Rodenas and juniorÂ
Cooper Williams collected the conference's doubles team of the week nod for the second time in 2026.
Â
Rodenas and Williams helped Duke to its sixth consecutive victory against North Carolina with a 4-1 Saturday triumph. The two played a key role in the victory as the Blue Devils quickly took the doubles point with 6-1 wins on courts one and three. In the top position, Williams and Rodenas
rolled past No. 34 Roan Jones and Anthony Wright. After dropping the first game, Duke's No. 15 duo ripped off the next six to finish ACC play with a 7-0 mark.Â
In singles, Rodenas capped his home career with his second victory of the day and clinched the match on the first court as he moved past No. 119 Chris Xu, 6-3, 6-3. In the first set, Rodenas turned a 1-1 tie into a 3-1 lead. Xu closed to within a game at 3-2 and 4-3 but could not even the action as Rodenas broke in the final game to take the first set. Rodenas turned a 2-2 tie into a 4-2 advantage in the second set, but Xu broke to make it a 4-3 deficit. Duke's top singles player won the final two games to close out the match.Â
Rodenas, of Madrid, Spain, wrapped up an incredible ACC career having played 40 league doubles matches, tied for the fourth most in Duke history, while his 29 league doubles wins are tied for second in Duke history. He has also taken part in 44 ACC singles matches, tied for the second most in Duke history. He owns 33 league singles victories, the third most in a Duke career. After a pair of singles victories Sunday at The Citadel, Rodenas owns 99 career singles triumphs and is one shy of becoming the 17th Blue Devil with 100 career wins.Â
Duke turns its attention to the ACC Championships, which take place at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina, from April 15-19. The Blue Devils open against Boston College on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
