CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Duke freshman forward
Cameron Boozer picked up his eighth ACC Rookie of the Week award of the season, the conference announced on Monday, Jan. 26.
Boozer amassed game highs of 32 points, nine rebounds and three steals, while adding four assists during a 90-69 victory over Wake Forest. He shot 11 of 20 from the field with three 3-pointers, and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.
The Miami, Florida, native is the first Blue Devil with consecutive 30-point games since
RJ Barrett in February 2019.
The forward has now been named ACC Rookie of the Week in eight of the first 12 weeks of the season and in each of the four possible weeks so far in the month of January. Over the last 12 seasons (since the start of 2013-14), Duke has had an ACC Rookie of the Week in 107 of a possible 216 weeks (49.5%). Twenty-eight different Blue Devils have won the award at least once in that time.
No. 4 Duke (18-1, 7-0 ACC) takes on No. 20 Louisville (14-5, 4-3 ACC) at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Monday, Jan. 26. The Blue Devils and Cardinals are scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m., on ESPN, as part the networks' Big Monday slate.
