DURHAM, N.C. – As the Duke men's and women's tennis programs get set to open the 2026 dual match seasons this week, there is still time to sign up for the Big Sets for Little Hearts program. The program benefits the Duke Children's Hospital Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center.
In the first year of Big Sets for Little Hearts, the Blue Devils raised $10,112.20 in earnings for the kids, and so far in 2025-26, Duke has raised $3,212.80. Those wanting to join as the spring season kicks off can get involved by clicking

Big Sets for Little Hearts pledges are made based on the number of sets won by the men's and women's tennis programs. During the 2024-25 season, the two teams combined to win a total of 824 sets.
In the preseason rankings, the women are listed No. 8 nationally, while the men are No. 17.
The women's team opens 2026 by hosting Iowa (9:30 a.m.) and NCCU (5 p.m.) Monday, Jan. 19. The men's team hosts Elon Friday, Jan. 16 at 5 p.m., in their spring opener. Overall, the men's team will play three matches this weekend. All matches will be played inside the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center and are free admission.
If you are interested in supporting Blue Devil tennis' partnership with Duke Children's, you can pledge for each set won during the season or make a one-time donation. Pledges start at $0.10, $0.50, $1.00 and $2.50. Based on last year's results, the smallest pledged donation would be equal to $64.70. One-time donations are always welcome as well.
The Duke Children's Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center is the No. 2 ranked pediatric cardiology and heart surgery program in the United States for newborns and children with congenital and acquired heart disease. The Duke Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center strives to improve its patients' outcomes and the quality of their lives.
To be able to accomplish this, the center achieves some of the highest survival rates in the U.S. in very sick patients who require advanced, complex care. The Heart Center performed more than 450 heart operations in 2023, including significantly more complicated procedures when compared to other centers across the country. The Duke Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center was the first to successfully perform several new approaches to pediatric heart transplant surgery, including donation after cardiac death transplantation, partial heart transplantation, combination heart and thymus transplantation. They pioneered new surgical techniques that lower risk and ensure heart surgery is better tolerated by the tiniest babies.
