SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Former Duke women's soccer All-America selection
Leah Freeman has signed a deal with the San Diego Wave of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) for the 2026 season.
"We are excited to welcome Leah to the Wave and add her to the goalkeeping group as we continue to build depth and support for the 2026 season," said Sporting Director and General Manager Camille Ashton.
Freeman, a native of Berkeley, California, played with Bay FC last season as a rookie.
One of the top goalkeepers nationally in college from 2020-24, Freeman compiled 30 shutouts, 40 victories, 352 saves and a 1.03 goals-against average in 86 contests.
In her final season with the Blue Devils, she helped lead Duke to the NCAA College Cup and the ACC regular season title, while notching seven shutouts, 18 victories, 52 saves and a .78 goals-against average. Freeman was rewarded with her efforts as she was named United Soccer Coaches All-America, ACC Goalkeeper of the Year, First Team All-ACC, College Sports Communicators Academic All-America and First Team All-Region.
