DURHAM, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Tuesday the matchups of its 18-game men's basketball schedule for the 2025-26 season, completing Duke's slate for the upcoming campaign.
The ACC, which expanded to a 20-game schedule beginning in 2019-20, reverts to an 18-game model for the first time since the 2012-13 through 2018-19 seasons. Each team will play its designated rival home and away, along with one variable repeat opponent, and face the remaining 14 teams once per year.
For Duke, the 2025-26 slate features home-and-home matchups with North Carolina and Louisville. The Blue Devils' seven home-only opponents are Boston College, Clemson, Georgia Tech, SMU, Syracuse, Virginia and Wake Forest. The seven road-only games are at California, Florida State, NC State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Stanford and Virginia Tech.
The Blue Devils open league play on Dec. 30/31, hosting Georgia Tech at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke then plays back-to-back road games to start the new year — at Florida State on Jan. 3 and at Louisville on Jan. 6/7 — before returning home to welcome SMU on Jan. 10. The matchup with the Mustangs marks their first appearance in Cameron Indoor Stadium as an ACC member.
History is also made later in January when Duke travels west for its first ACC road trip to California. The Blue Devils visit Cal on Jan. 13/14, before facing Stanford in Palo Alto on Jan. 17. After that swing, Duke returns home for a two-game set against Wake Forest (Jan. 24) and Louisville (Jan. 26). The contest with the Cardinals will be the first of three Big Monday games on ESPN for the Blue Devils.
The final day of January sends Duke to Virginia Tech (Jan. 31), before opening February with a home tilt against Boston College (Feb. 3/4). The Blue Devils then head to Chapel Hill for the first matchup with North Carolina on Feb. 7. Duke also plays at Pitt (Feb. 10/11), before returning to Durham for back-to-back games versus Clemson (Feb. 14) and Syracuse (Feb. 16).
The stretch run includes a trip to Notre Dame (Feb. 24/25) and a home date with Virginia (Feb. 28), before the Blue Devils face NC State in Raleigh on March 2. The regular season concludes with the return game against North Carolina at Cameron Indoor Stadium on March 7.
Following the regular season, the top 15 teams in the final standings will compete in the 2026 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament, set for March 10-14 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.
Duke's 2025-26 non-conference lineup features eight opponents that reached the NCAA Tournament a year ago: Texas (Nov. 4; Charlotte, N.C.), Kansas (Nov. 18; New York, N.Y.), Arkansas (Nov. 27; Chicago), Florida (Dec. 2; Durham), Michigan State (Dec. 6; East Lansing, Mich.), Lipscomb (Dec. 16; Durham), Texas Tech (Dec. 20; New York, N.Y.) and Michigan (Feb. 21; Washington, D.C.). Of those teams, five advanced to the Sweet 16, with three reaching the Elite Eight.
Duke's preseason schedule includes Countdown to Craziness on Friday, Oct. 3 at Cameron Indoor Stadium, followed by an exhibition against UCF in the Brotherhood Run on Tuesday, Oct. 21, and a road exhibition at Tennessee on Sunday, Oct. 26.
Entering the 2025-26 campaign under fourth-year head coach
Jon Scheyer, Duke returns six players from a squad that finished 35-4 overall last season, capturing the program's 23rd ACC Tournament title, 21st ACC regular-season crown and advancing to its 18th Final Four. The Blue Devils also welcome the nation's No. 1-ranked recruiting class.
