DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's golf freshman
Rianne Malixi has been selected to represent her home country of Philippines at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championship.  The competition will take place Oct. 1-4 at the Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore.

The 36 women's teams will be competing for the Espirito Santo Trophy and will play 72 holes of stroke play.  Teams will be comprised of 2-3 golfers and for each round the lowest two scores for each team will be counted as the score for the round.  The total of the two-player team scores for the four rounds is the team's score for the Championship. The Champion is the team with the lowest total score for 72 holes.

Along with Malixi on the Philippines squad will be Grace Quintanilla and Junia Gabasa.

Malixi, who hails from Manila, Philippines, was the No. 1 recruit in the 2025 class.  She has earned numerous preseason accolades for the Blue Devils, including ANNIKA Award Watch List, Golfweek Second Team All-America, Golf Channel First Team All-America and Golf Channel First Team All-Freshman.  Malixi won the U.S. Women's Amateur, U.S. Girl's Junior and the Australian Master of the Amateurs in 2024.

The World Amateur Team Championships are a biennial international amateur golf competition conducted by the International Golf Federation. The women contest the Espirito Santo Trophy, while the men compete for the Eisenhower Trophy.

This will mark the 31st edition of the Women's World Amateur Team Championship, which was first played in 1964 in France.

With Malixi competing in the World Amateur Team Championship, she will miss Duke's next team event Sept. 29-30 at the Windy City Collegiate Classic.
