DURHAM, N.C.—The Duke men's lacrosse team earned the No. 7 overall seed and will host Georgetown in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship as announced on the NCAA selection show Sunday night on ESPNU. Duke and Georgetown faceoff May 10 at 7:30 p.m., on ESPNU.
Duke is making its 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and garnered a top eight seed for the 22nd time in program history. The Blue Devils are the seventh seed for the fifth time and sport a 7-3 overall record from that position. The last time Duke was the No. 7 seed in 2013 as the Blue Devils caught fire on their way to their second NCAA title.
Tickets for the game are $11 for adults and $6 for youth and senior citizens. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance of the game on GoDuke.com.
This will be the second meeting between Georgetown and Duke in NCAA Tournament action and the 31st meeting overall. The Hoyas defeated the No. 4 seed Blue Devils in the opening round in 1999. The two squads last faced off in 2017 - a 12-7 win by Duke in Washington D.C.
Georgetown captured a seventh straight BIG EAST title to earn the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament. The Hoyas are 11-4 overall and defeated Marquette (19-8) and Villanova (16-8) in the BIG EAST Championship to earn the bid.
Aidon Carroll paces the attack with 42 goals and 24 assists for 66 points while Fulton Bayman has 26 goals and 31 assists for 57 points. The Hoyas are averaging 12.67 goals per game and allowing just 8.93 per game to rank ninth nationally. Robert Plath leads the charge on defense with 27 caused turnovers and 24 ground balls. In goal, Anderson Moore sports a 10.00 goals against average and a .538 save percentage. Ross Prince is outstanding at the faceoff dot, winning 63 percent of the restarts.
The Blue Devils head into NCAA postseason action sporting a 12-5 overall record and a runner-up finish at the ACC Championship. Duke is 44-23 all-time in NCAA Tournament play and has advanced to Championship Weekend 14 times and owns three NCAA titles. Under head coach

Eric Malever headlines the offense with 32 goals and 32 assists for 64 points while senior
Andrew McAdorey has 21 goals and 21 assists for 42 points. Midfielders
Max Sloat and
Benn Johnston both are having career-best seasons with 39 and 32 points, respectively.
Duke features one of the nation's top defensive units, allowing 9.41 goals per game for the season and just 7.83 per game over the previous six outings. Juniors
Aidan Maguire, the Co-ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and
Charlie Johnson anchor the Blue Devils with 26 and 30 caused turnovers, respectively. Johnson is one of four Blue Devils to register at least 30 takeaways in a season and Maguire holds the Duke single-season record for caused turnovers by a short stick midfielder.

Henry Bard has emerged as a stalwart close defenseman for the Blue Devils while sophomore goaltender
Patrick Jameison is playing his best lacrosse of the season, averaging 12.5 saves per game over the past six and sporting a 9.33 goals against average on the year.
