DURHAM, N.C. – Excitement is in the air as the inaugural
Kara Lawson Basketball Camp is set to debut this summer with two different day camp sessions.
Held on the campus of Duke University, the
Kara Lawson Basketball Camp will be an engaging, fast-paced and educational four-day camp for girls designed to instill the values, work ethic and skills that have helped define Coach Lawson's successful basketball career and leadership at Duke.
Session 1 is slated for July 14-17 (Rising 3rd – Rising 9th Graders) while Session 2 is set for August 4-7 (Rising 3rd – Rising 12th Graders). The total cost to attend camp is $475 each session, which includes a
Kara Lawson Basketball Camp reversable practice jersey (provided at camp check-in) and lunch daily in Scharf Hall.
Campers will participate in two games per day with their teams, including the unforgettable experience of playing several games in the iconic Cameron Indoor Stadium. In addition to the competitive gameplay, campers will have the opportunity to enhance their skillset through top-tier instruction from experienced coaches in key areas such as ball handling, defense, rebounding and shooting. Off the court, campers will learn from Duke women's basketball staff and players about what it takes to excel as an elite basketball player, including strength and conditioning, nutrition and mental preparation – the core elements that help athletes reach their full potential.
