CARLSBAD, Calif. - Duke men's golf sophomore
Bryan Kim completed his second round of the NCAA Championship, shooting a 3-over, 75, during the morning wave on Saturday, May 24. Kim is tied for 80th on the individual leaderboard following the completion of second-round action at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED: ROUND TWO
- Byran Kim carded a 3-over, 75, and sits at 5-over, 149, after 36 holes of play.Â
- Kim began his round on No. 10 as part of the morning wave and after a par on his first hole of the day, he found the bottom of the cup for a birdie on No. 11 from just outside 10 feet.
- A bogey on his next hole, the 245-yard, par-3, 12th, put Kim back at even-par but the sophomore played the remainder of the back-nine bogey-free, while also pouring in a birdie on the challenging par-4 15th.Â
- After making the turn to the front-nine at 1-under, Kim reached 2-under for the round on the par-5 second after nearly holing his approach shot for eagle and tapping in for an easy birdie.
- Four pars followed for the sophomore, but he played his final five holes at 5-over to finish the round at 3-over.Â
NOTES
- With his birdie on No. 15, Bryan Kim posted one of just 18 birdies made on that hole in the second round, which played as the fifth-hardest on the course on Saturday.
