QUOTES
- "Congrats to Bryant on a great season. I think it's their second or third time in the NCAA Tournament. So, congrats to them. First of all, from our standpoint, it was just good to get out and play. We've been battling finals this week and some other things. I think it's good to get out, get a good match, a fairly quick match other than the weather delay there and be ready for tomorrow, which is a battle. It's been a round that we've had trouble with the last couple of years. We are excited for that opportunity tomorrow, to get out and compete and keep this season going. I know these girls really want to keep playing for each other and with each other and so it's another opportunity to do that tomorrow."- Duke head coach Jamie Ashworth
- "Two of those three had never played an NCAA Tournament match before. Katie has been in and out of our lineup this year and so it's great for those guys to get that first win and for Katie to come out and show what she's capable of when she's given the opportunity to go out and play at a high level, compete and win." - Duke head coach Jamie Ashworth on Katie, Ava and Eleana getting singles wins
- "Yeah, we talked about that before the match. We talked about we've earned this opportunity. We have to use the crowd tomorrow and it's great to be home. We've had a lot of success at home and that's something that you play all year.I told them before we started to have fun with this and cherish the fact that we've earned this opportunity and kind of roll with it. So hopefully today was the start of a good couple of matches here." - Duke head coach Jamie Ashworth on playing at home
- "It was such an exciting experience and opportunity. I wasn't able to have an NCAA experience last year. So, being out here knowing that this was going to be the last little bit of our season, I just wanted to make sure I was out there giving you my absolute all. And I had a blast. It was honestly so fun, not only being out there on court, being here at home, but just the overall atmosphere was great. And despite the rain delay, I feel like I was able to kind of keep that energy going. So, I really had a good time today during my matches."- Duke sophomore Eleana Yu
