Women’s Tennis Seeded No. 1 in ACC Championship

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's tennis team earned the No. 1 seed in the ACC Championship and will play Friday, April 18 at 10 a.m., inside the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C. With the Blue Devils finishing in the top four of the standings, Duke received a double-bye into the quarterfinals.
The Blue Devils finished the regular season with a 20-2 overall and 12-0 ACC ledger to win the ACC regular season title for the 22nd time in Duke history. It also marked the 16th undefeated season and first ACC title since 2018 for the Blue Devils. Duke won its 15th-straight match, which is tied for the third-longest in program history.
In the quarterfinals, the Blue Devils will face either eighth-seeded Georgia Tech, ninth-seeded Clemson, 16th-seeded Syracuse or 17th-seeded Boston College. The top eight seeds in the championship are No. 1 Duke, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 3 NC State, No. 4 Virginia, No. 5 California, No. 6 Notre Dame, No. 7 Stanford and No. 8 Georgia Tech.
Other seasons the Blue Devils have won the ACC regular season titles include – 2018, 2017, 2012, 2011, 2009, 2006, 2003, 2002, 2001, 1999, 1998, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1993, 1992, 1991, 1990, 1989 and 1988. Duke featured undefeated ACC regular seasons in 2012, 2003, 2002, 2001, 1999, 1998, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1993, 1992, 1991, 1990 and 1988.
Head coach Jamie Ashworth has now won 13 ACC regular season titles and eight have been undefeated seasons.
One-day tickets are priced at $15 for adults (ages 18 and older) and $10 for children ages 17 and under and non-ACC college students with a valid school ID. Admission is free for children 8 and under and ACC college students with a school ID. A full championship pass for all six days is priced at $30.
