Terry Moore a Top-10 Returning Safety

DURHAM, N.C. - Rising senior safety Terry Moore has been named one of the nation's top 10 returning safeties by Pro Football Focus (PFF). Moore, who earned Second Team All-ACC honors in 2024, checks in No. 7 on the PFF list.
As PFF notes, "Moore has a silky smooth backpedal and flips his hips very well in coverage. That allows him to read quarterbacks' eyes and break on the football at a high level."
Moore and the Blue Devils open the 2025 season by hosting Elon on Thursday, August 28.Â

An Academic All-ACC honoree, Moore was a Second Team All-America pick by Action Network in 2024 after starting all 13 games. He booked 71 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, four interceptions, five pass breakups and two caused fumbles last fall. The Washington, N.C., native led the Blue Devils in INTs, tied for the squad lead in caused fumbles and ranked fourth in tackles.Â
Moore led all Power Four safeties in 2024 with a 90.1 PFF overall grade. He also earned an 81.7 PFF run-defense grade. He capped his season against Ole Miss in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl and ended the Rebels' first possession by returning an interception 59 yards for the longest INT return in Duke bowl history.Â
