DURHAM, N.C. – United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) announced the 15 women's semifinalists for the 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy Tuesday with Duke redshirt junior
Kat Rader among those selected based on voting by NCAA Division I women's soccer coaches.
The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer and has been awarded annually since 1967. Most recently, Duke's
Michelle Cooper won the award in 2022, and recent Blue Devil graduate
Maggie Graham was a finalist a season ago.
Along with Rader on the list was Jasmine Aikey (Stanford), Seven Castain (TCU), Summer Denigan (Georgia), Jordynn Dudley (Florida State), Izzy Engle (Notre Dame), Elise Evans (Stanford), Lia Godfrey (Virginia), Leah Klenke (Notre Dame), Finley Lavin (Memphis), Hope Leyba (Colorado), Hannah McLaughlin (Vanderbilt), Jordan Nytes (Colorado), Ally Perry (Mississippi State) and Sydney Watts (Vanderbilt).
Rader, who hails from Stuart, Florida, has turned in an impressive season with 12 goals and 12 assists for 36 points. She became just the fourth Blue Devil in program history to notch 10 or more goals and assists in a single season. Rader has turned up her play even more in the postseason with two goals and four assists in four NCAA Tournament contests to lead Duke into the NCAA College Cup for the second consecutive year. She ranks No. 17 nationally with a 1.71 points per game average and has collected at least one point in 17-of-21 matches she has competed in.
From the 15 semifinalists, three finalists will be named for the award on Wednesday, Dec. 10. The 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy banquet will be held at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Missouri, Jan. 9, 2026, to announce the winner.
Fans are encouraged to vote for their favorite player. Go to MACHermannnTrophy.org for the women's semifinal ballot.
Rader is one of only eight Duke student-athletes in program history to be named a semifinalist – Natasha Anasi (2012), Christina Gibbons (2016), Imani Dorsey (2017), Quinn (2017), Kayla McCoy (2018), Cooper (2021, 2022) and Graham (2024).
Next up for Rader and the second-seeded Blue Devils is Stanford in the NCAA College Cup Friday, Dec. 5 at 8:45 p.m. (ET) in Kansas City, Missouri. The match will be aired live on ESPNU.
