DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's golf graduate student
Andie Smith received one of 12 invites by the United States Golf Association (USGA) to attend a U.S. Curtis Cup practice session Jan. 16-18. The practice will be held in Los Angeles, California, at the Bel-Air Country Club, which is the site of the 2026 Curtis Cup Match.Â
Â
Along with Smith receiving invitations were Anna Davis (Auburn), Kary Hollenbaugh (Ohio State), Jasmine Koo (Southern California), Chloe Kovelesky (Wake Forest), Farah O'Keef (Texas), Macy Pate (Wake Forest), Catherine Park (Southern California), Kiara Romero (Oregon), Asterisk Tally, Kelly Xi (Stanford) and Avery Weed (Mississippi State).Â
Â
"Being invited to a Curtis Cup practice session is a significant milestone in any player's career and we're thrilled to welcome these 12 outstanding amateurs into the selection process for the 2026 Match," said John Bodenhamer, USGA chief championships officer. "Each of them has distinguished herself through performance, work ethic and a deep love for the game. We look forward to seeing them compete, learn and grow together as we begin shaping the team that will represent the United States on one of amateur golf's most inspiring stages."Â
Â
Smith, a product of Hobe Sound, Florida, recently graduated from Duke in three years and is in her final season of eligibility with the Blue Devils. Over her Duke career, Smith has registered seven top 10 and 17 top 20 finishes, while winning the 2024 Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational individual crown. She owns 20 career rounds in the 60s and a 70.92 stroke average in 99 rounds. Smith tallied two top 10 placements in the fall out of four events.Â
Â
The final roster will be comprised of eight players. An invitation to the Curtis Cup practice session does not guarantee selection to the team. Players not invited will also be considered for inclusion on the team. Meghan Stasi, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will again captain the USA team after doing so in 2024. Stasi was a member of the victorious 2008 Curtis Cup team that won on the Old Course at St. Andrews. She is also a four-time U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur champion and eight-time Florida State Golf Association Women's Amateur Player of the Year.Â
Â
The 44th Match will be played at Bel-Air Country Club from June 12-14, 2026.
